Rules and Exchange Condition


Exchange Conditions


Level of studies : clinical students only!
Type of Clerkship : clinical clerkship
Languages : Bahasa Indonesia, English; translation would usually made by partners and supervisors.
Please
don't hesitate to approach them if you have something to ask.

Duration of Clerkship : ONE MONTH (if less than 20 days effective work, you'll get NO CERTIFICATE)
Note for non-IFMSA Clinical Electives : you can apply more than one month Only if
the application comes prior 3 months before Clerkship

Working Conditions : - 6 days/week from Monday to Saturday
- Must undergo similar working conditions as Our Medical students
- Must obey all the regulations at the clinical department and the hospital.
- Must not leave the clerkship before the time agreed previously.
- Must wear FORMAL SHIRT with COLLAR. Please have respectable performance as
medical student at hospital

-Please take your exchange time seriously. It's one month chance to study bunch of tropical medicine
cases and unique diseases that you might only can see in developed countries such as Indonesia!
Fee : Unilateral 280 Euro + 50 Euro for Administration fee
Disciplines : Internal Medicine, Tropical Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, and Ophtalmology
Periods : year around except in FASTING MONTH (HOLY RAMADHAN)

Application documents & deadline:

AF and documents must be received in March Meetings or 3 MONTHS

BEFORE your clerkship starts. All documents that will be submitted in March Meeting must be saved as
softcopy in CD/VCD/DVD and hardcopy.

ALL students MUST enclose:
1. Official Letter of Recommendation from student's DEAN to the HOSTING University, containing the
point that student is RECOMMENDED to join clinical exchange in X, X, and X Department in HOSTING
UNIVERSITY as noted in student's priorities
2. proof of enrollment
3. Student's Transcript. This is a list of your exams marks.. Again, PLEASE do those THREE
documents OFFICIALLY and don't forget to PUT DEAN STAMP on them. Letters should be arranged
SOON after you heard from your SCOPE NMO National Exchange Officer about your final placement in
Indonesia (in which University), usually after March Meeting you will get this info.
4. a copy of passport
5. a copy of language certificate
6. a letter of motivation
7. a curriculum vitae
8. a copy of the health insurance
9. 3 passport sized pictures
10.a copy of health statement that you are free from any disease

Insurance : Health insurance is strictly required.
Pocket Money : Not available
Board & Lodging : Students will be placed in a host family or a boarding house
Special remarks :

-Bring your own white coat and stethoscope

-Please wear RESPECTABLE CLOTHES as mentioned above: SHIRT with COLLAR (for male and female)
-Wear SHOES instead of SANDALS; but feminine shoesandals for female are okay
-Female students must wear KNEE LENGTH SKIRT or longer. If not please wear TROUSERS instead of
jeans. In some departments of UMY female students have to wear special dress. This is a way that you will
feel more about our life, nothing to be worried about this.
-Start from this year, SCOPE INDONESIA has decided to use LOGBOOK. So please bring your logbook to
be confirmed to our hospitals so that you can gain more in this exchange. Supervisors will sign on your
logbook if they think you participate seriously and curiously. If you are not enthusiastic we CANNOT
guarantee that you'll get their signature.
-Credit cannot be given by our hospitals.
-Please fill SCOPE EVALUATION FORM at the end of your exchange month.
-We CANNOT pleace couple in the same hostfamily nor hostels. Please notice this!

-Again, please take your exchange time seriously. Don't skip any lectures. Certification from IFMSA
would be only given for you who have attended at least 18 days effective hospital working)
